Noises Off is Michael Frayn’s award-winning play-within-a-play which goes behind the scenes of a touring comedy where personalities and incompetence collide with disastrous and hilarious consequences. The dreadful sex farce ‘Nothing On’ is about to go on tour. However, nothing goes right from the dress rehearsal as missed cues, fluffed lines and bothersome props provide a clear hint of the trouble to come. A month later, the play is on the road and the action is seen from backstage - revealing a cast at each other’s throats and a production desperate to be put out of its misery by the final curtain.
