History:
The current Lyceum Theatre opened in 1834 and has played host to many literary legends over the years, including Charles Dickens and Bram Stoker (who was business manager at the venue between 1878 and 1898). In 1951 the theatre became the Lyceum Ballroom, playing host to a number of big bands and popular music groups, before closing its doors in 1985. The theatre reopened in 1996 with a spectacular revival of Jesus Christ Superstar.
