History:
The Queens Theatre opened in 1907 after being designed as a pair with the Gielgud Theatre by the architect W.R. Sprague. The theatre was lost to the Blitz in September 1940 and did not open again until 1959. Notable productions over the years have included Jeffrey Archer’s first play Beyond Reasonable Doubt in 1987, and Les Misérables, London’s longest ever running musical, which transferred from the Palace Theatre in 2004.
