History:
The St Martin’s Theatre is one of very few London theatres that is still privately owned. Originally intended to be one of a pair with its next door neighbour the Ambassadors, the construction of St Martin’s was delayed by the out break of the First World War and it eventually opened in 1916 with the musical comedy Houpla. The Mousetrap, which transferred to the St Martins from the Ambassadors Theatre in 1974, maintains it's enduring appeal.
