History:
The Harold Pinter Theatre is one of the mid-size venues in London and one of very few Victorian theatres in London to retain its original décor. The venue played a large role in the revision of theatre censorship in Britain with the establishment of the New Watergate Club in 1956. This private club successfully circumvented the legislation and allowed the London premieres of such plays as A View From The Bridge by Arthur Miller and Tennessee Williams’ classic Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
