History:
The Wyndham’s Theatre was commissioned and owned by the Marquess of Salisbury who only allowed the theatre to be constructed if Sir Charles Wyndham would manage it. Notable productions over the years include Wise Child starring Alec Guinness (1967) and the musical Godspell with David Essex (1972). Madonna made her West End debut at the venue in 2002 in the comic play Up for Grabs.
